We hope our website provides clear and concise help in an easy and convenient format. It has been designed with the patient’s needs at the forefront of everything.
Bankfield Surgery was formed in 1988 by the joining of two long established Elland Practices. A local Elland Architect was employed and the surgery opened in October 1991. Advice was sought on the design of the building by a disabled group of patients to ensure it met their needs.
In September 2020, due to an increase in list size we were able to take on a branch surgery which we named Bankfield Surgery @ Rosemount House located in Elland.
The surgery was an existing purposely kitted out doctor’s surgery. This meant that we had an additional 3 consulting rooms and one additional treatment room.
The practice consists of 6 GP's working alongside ANP's (Advanced Nurse Practitioners) and a full Nursing team. We also have access to Clinical Pharmacists, Physiotherapists, Mental Health Practitioners, Social Prescribers, Care Co-Ordinators and an AVS team (Acute Home Visiting Services run by Paramedics).
Our trained Receptionists will signpost you to access the right care with the right clinician.
As we are a training practice, you may be offered an appointment with a GP Registrar.
By the time you see a GP Registrar they will have spent at least 5 years at medical school to qualify as a doctor. They will have then done 2 years working in hospitals before starting a 3 year programme to become a GP.
