Practice Health Champions

You as a patient at the practice are invited to be trained as Volunteer Practice Health Champions. Our champions will engage with other patients, try to understand their needs and organise activities.
Different groups are set up for patients, and a support network is being delivered within the practice.
Our group look to support patients in a non-clinical way. We have a very dedicated group of volunteers. Each person has ideas about what could be done to support the Practice in improving the health and well-being of people in our community.

Held every Thursday, 9:30 – 11.30am in the lounge at Hamerton Close.

This group is run by Bankfield Surgery’s PRACTICE HEALTH CHAMPIONS.

Please come along for a coffee and a chat or use the time to be creative by drawing, painting, knitting, sewing, etc.

N.B. there will be a small charge for tea/coffee.

There is no need to book, please just turn up on the day.

ALL OF OUR WALK LEADERS ARE TRAINED

The walking group meet at the surgery every WEDNESDAY 2pm (weather permitting) and walk for about one hour.

There is no need to book, please just come along. Please arrive 10 minutes prior the start time to ensure a prompt start.

This group meet weekly at the surgery. Their aim is to introduce patients to running and to help them run 5 kilometres (3 miles). If you are interested in joining the group, please leave your name with the reception team.

Do you have a spare hour or so each week? Would you like to help people in our community?

We are recruiting patients to join our Befrienders team. Our Befrienders provide a vital service by helping to look after the social needs of our lonely patients.
